Sharp is a global leader in clinical trial supply services and pharmaceutical packaging. Its pharmaceutical packaging services are for drug products, such as tablets, capsules and injectables for commercial supply.
The company was founded in 1952 in Conshohocken, Montgomery County, and expanded into the Lehigh Valley in 2004 when it opened facilities and headquarters in Allentown. The location kept the company near the “pharma belt” companies in suburban Philadelphia and northern New Jersey, officials say.
Sharp also has pharmaceutical packaging and clinical service facilities in the United Kingdom, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

Sharp Clinical Services, a division of the Sharp company, has been involved in supporting clinical trials related to COVID-19 from its Pennsylvania facilities.
